Ancient Egyptian art has always been a particular source of inspiration for me and this piece is a tribute to its iconic images. The snake held great significance for the ancient Egyptians as a symbol, In many instances there is a serpent depicted as emanating from the Pharoah's ‘third eye’; this snake was known as the Uraeus, a protective force over them and symbolised their royalty and sovereignty.
